Illinois Chamber Orchestra to present
'Fables and Tall Tales'

[SEPT. 23, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Chamber Orchestra will perform "Fables and Tall Tales" on Oct. 7 at First Christian Church in Springfield and on Oct. 8 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomington. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

The "Fables and Tall Tales" program will feature Illinois Chamber Orchestra musicians recounting beautiful stories of love and illusion. The program will include "The Fairy Queen," by Purcell; "Transfigured Night," by Schoenberg; and Stravinsky's "Pulcinella."

Illinois Chamber Orchestra season tickets are still available at $45 for three concerts in Bloomington-Normal and at $60 for four concerts in Springfield. General admission for chamber concerts is $20. Tickets can be reserved by calling (217) 522-2838 in Springfield or (309) 438-5444 in Bloomington.

These concerts are made possible in part through a grant from the Illinois Arts Council and by concert sponsors Landmark Automotive in Springfield and Commerce Bank in Bloomington-Normal.
