died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Manor Care Nursing Home at
Normal.
Arrangements are pending at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Marianne Hein, 64, of Mount Pulaski died
Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 9:55 p.m. at St. John's
Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her
funeral will be at 10:30 Saturday at the funeral home, with
Pastor Mark Peters officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mrs. Hein was employed at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln for 31
years.
She was born Jan. 1, 1942, in Munich, Germany to Karl and
Elisabeth Pfeffer Dullinger. She married John M. Hein on
Dec. 28, 1960, in Ansbach, Germany.
She is survived by her husband, of Mount Pulaski; two
daughters, Deborah L. (and Randy) Bowles of Mount Pulaski
and Dianne E. (and Michael) Allison of Lincoln; and three
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln and
the Emblem Club of Lincoln Elks Lodge 914.
Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Lincoln
or Zion Lutheran School of Mount Pulaski.

LINCOLN -- Shirley J. Tomlin, 79, of Lincoln, formerly of
Middletown, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at
Holland and Barry Funeral Home. A memorial service will
follow at 7 p.m., with Ryan Edgecombe, chaplain at the
Christian Village, officiating.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Irish Grove
Cemetery, Middletown.
Mrs. Tomlin worked at City Water, Light and Power in
Springfield for 20 years before she retired in 1993.
Previously, she was a retail clothing buyer for S.A. Barker
and a manager for Roland's Clothing.
She was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Middletown to Virgil and
Leona Morris Agnew. She married Glenn Tomlin on May 21,
1972, in Shelbyville.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; her mother,
of Middletown; one sister, Barbara Breene of Middletown; and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Agnew.
She graduated from Middletown High School.
Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be
accepted at the funeral home.

ARMINGTON -- Gregory E. Cox, 48, of Centralia, died
Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 4:58 p.m. at St. Mary's Good
Samaritan Hospital, Centralia.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Quiram
Funeral Home, Atlanta, with Ed Loyd officiating. Visitation
will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery, rural Armington.
He was born Oct. 21, 1957, at Pekin, to Edward and
Virginia Reed Cox.
He is survived by his mother, of Armington; one sister,
Polly (and Ron) Graber of Atlanta; one nephew; and one
great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to the Armington Fire Department or
the Armington Christian Church.

ATLANTA -- Elaine R. Smith, 38, of Atlanta, died Tuesday,
April 11, 2006, at 4:52 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital in Lincoln.
Her body will be cremated.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen
Cemetery, Waynesville.
There will be no visitation.
Quiram Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Smith managed the Freedom Oil Company in Heyworth
for several years.
She was born Oct. 28, 1967, at East St. Louis, to William R.
and Bonita A. Kennedy Stewart.
She is survived by her mother, of Cahokia; her maternal
grandmother, Evelyn Kennedy of Cahokia; one sister, Shannon
Stewart of Cahokia; and two nieces, Ashley Forrest and
Brianna Stewart, both of Cahokia.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kassy Lynn
Stewart.

Gaylord 'Eugene' Barringer

LINCOLN -- Gaylord Gene "Eugene" Barringer, 66, of
Lincoln died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 3:35 a.m. at St.
Clara's Manor.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Peasley
Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. at
the funeral home.
Cremation rites will follow the service.
Mr. Barringer had been employed at The Tropics at
Lincoln.
He was born May 3, 1939, at Augusta to William and Goldie
Caseley Barringer.
He is survived by three brothers, Virgil Barringer Sr. of
Lincoln, Ernie (and Carol) Barringer of Michigan and Lloyd
(and Helen) Ertel. Also
surviving is a treasured friend and caregiver, Sandra Dickey
of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Terry Lee Fisher, 65, of Mount Pulaski
died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 12:15 a.m. at Maple Ridge
Care Centre in Lincoln.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount
Pulaski Cemetery, with Bill Shane officiating. Military
rites will also be conducted.
There is no visitation.

arrangements.
Mr. Fisher worked for Coogan Excavation.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.
He was born April 8, 1941, at Mount Pulaski to Walter and
Hermine Beers Fisher.
He is survived by one son, Lance Fisher of Avondale,
Ariz.; one daughter, Tara (and Jeff) Henry of Bloomington;
and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

LATHAM -- Mary E. Heft, 83, of Latham died Monday, April
10, 2006, at 5:32 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service was Thursday morning at Mount
Pulaski Cemetery, with Father James O'Shea officiating.
There was no visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home handled
arrangements.
Mrs. Heft was a homemaker.
She was born May 1, 1922, at Latham to Hugh K. and Leona
Gasaway Hoaglin. She married William H. Heft in Rushville,
Ind., on Feb. 20, 1939. He died May 21, 2005.
She is survived by two sons, William R. Heft of Latham
and Thomas H. (and Kim) Heft of Latham; one daughter,
Patricia A. Heft (and William Stobo) of Portsmouth, Va.; one
sister, Marjorie Winters of Warrensburg; two grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one brother.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in
Decatur.
