Virginia Meisner

[AUG. 23, 2006]  Virginia A. Meisner, 83, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at 1:40 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her body will be cremated following visitation.

Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.

Mrs. Meisner was a homemaker.

She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in York, Pa., to Charles and Carrie Lightner Brandon. She married Robert E. Meisner on May 2, 1942, in Huntsville, Ala. He died Oct. 13, 1999.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (and Dale) Voyles of Lincoln and Barbara Briones of Lincoln; two sons, Bill (and Carol) Meisner of Athens and Johnie (and Sue) Meisner of Forest City; one brother, David Brandon of Shelbyville, Tenn.; one sister, Sandra (and David) Cowan of Friars Hill, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

She was a member of the Mechanicsburg Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Memorials may be made to Dr. Wayne J. Schall Hospice.
