Lincoln College Chorale to perform at Decatur's Black History Month celebration          Send a link to a friend

[FEB. 3, 2006]  Lincoln College Chorale will perform at the Black History Month celebration in Decatur on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Schilling Auditorium at Richland College.

The event, titled "American Negro Spiritual Celebration," will feature the Lincoln College Chorale and church choirs from Decatur singing Negro spirituals.

Tracy Koch, director of the Lincoln College Chorale, feels the production will be inspirational. "It is a valuable performance for our students to sing these songs that really focus on a time they can only read about," Koch said. "I expect those who attend will learn something and experience moving renditions of a variety of music."

The event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Decatur Black Chamber of Commerce.
