[SEPT. 18, 2006]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Elma L. Maples, 80, formerly of Decatur, died Sept. 12, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Mount Pulaski Cemetery. Jeremy Thomas will officiate.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski handled arrangements.

Mrs. Mapes was a homemaker, mother and bookkeeper.

She was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Mount Pulaski to Troy and Blanche Bredenstiner Worth. She married Frank Mapes in Colorado Springs, Colo., in February of 1979. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2006.

She is survived by one son, Michael A. Burgess of Decatur; three daughters, Susan Parker of Pulaski, Carol Burgess of Urbana and Barbara Uhler of Blue Mound; two stepchildren; four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was of the Christian faith.
