Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: I agree with your assessment, Mr. Editor. We are
headed for the dark ages again, with taxes, user fees, skyrocketing
gasoline costs, skyrocketing utility costs, skyrocketing medical
costs and skyrocketing liability insurance premiums. The only people
who will survive are those employed by government entities, until
there is no one left to feed them, fix their broken equipment, mow
their yards, plow their snow, paint their houses, do their taxes,
build their roads, fly their airplanes etc. I believe that the
average citizen will be forced to heat their homes again with coal
and wood and that we will be reading by candle light, no more TV, no
more computers, no more manicured lawns and finally, we will be just
like China and other Asian countries, using bicycles and motor
scooters for transportation.
