Accounting specialist Monica Knauer is the
April Employee of the Month at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
The Mount Pulaski native began her ALMH career 20 years ago and has
worked in patient accounts, human resources and accounts payable.

In 1991, she transferred into her current role in the accounting
department. She works with each department manager to fine-tune
budgets and then tracks each department's expenses to develop
accurate financial statements. She also assists with computer
software systems maintenance.
Recently, she led the implementation of a paperless accounting
system and then taught her colleagues how to work without generating
additional paper. According to Knauer, this is her greatest
accomplishment at ALMH.

 Co-workers say that she enthusiastically volunteers her time to
help others become more efficient. She maintains a sense of humor
and grace under pressure while consistently completing accurate,
high-quality and timely work.
