Richard Sumrall, director of the Lincoln Public Library, cuts the ribbon on the new library drop box yesterday morning. The $4,500, all stainless steel box was made possible by the generosity of the Lincoln Rotary Club. As chamber ambassadors and Rotarians gathered, Sumrall said the box with a capacity of 350 books was a much-needed replacement for the smaller 22-year-old drop box it replaced. The Rotary Club of Lincoln has been a true friend of the library, also donating the funds for the library's flagpole and water fountain.

The box was installed by Robert Boyd/Doug Tillman Construction of Lincoln.
