[March 23, 2009]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Robert C. Lewis, 78, of Mount Pulaski, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 8:27 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski, with Pastor Mark Drews officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.

Mr. Lewis worked in maintenance and repair.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Plymouth, Mass., to Wilverton and Mabel Pierce Lewis. He married Louetta Schahl in Mount Pulaski on June 29, 1952.

He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; one son, Robert C. (and Kathy) Lewis Jr. of Aledo, Texas; two daughters, Sandra Kay (and Alan) Gulso of Lincoln and Patricia Ann (and John) Sergent of Pawnee; seven grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School or Zion Lutheran Church, both in Mount Pulaski.
