Lynx finish great season with 3rd in nation

[March 23, 2009]  The Lincoln College men's basketball team competed in the NJCAA Division II national tournament in Danville last week, finishing third in the nation. The Lynx ended the year 27-10 and 13-3 in the conference.

"I would like to thank all of you for your support of our team throughout the year," said Lincoln College coach Kirk Whiteman. "It was a year that far exceeded expectations, and the coaching staff is very proud of the team's accomplishments."

  • Wednesday night:
    Lincoln 75, Morton 63

  • Thursday night:
    Lincoln 73, Cecil (Md.) 63

  • Friday night:
    Kirkwood (Iowa) 76, Lincoln 58

  • Saturday night, third-place game:
    Lincoln 65, Phoenix (Ariz.) 61

Darius Adams and Brandon Farmer were named to the all-tournament team.

  • Player of the year: Darius Adams
