Earl 'Bud' Schumm

[April 30, 2010]  BLOOMINGTON -- Earl Daniel "Bud" Schumm, 85, of Bloomington, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Bloomington.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church in Bloomington, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Warren officiating.

Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, rural McLean.

Mr. Schumm farmed in the Funks Grove area his entire life.

He was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Peoria. His parents were Daniel and Pearl Schmidgall Schumm. He married Shirley Beyer on Aug. 4, 1944, in Henry.

He is survived by his wife; his children, Charlotte (and Ben) Feist of Ashville, N.C., Larry Earl (and Linda) Schumm of Chestnut, Judith (and William) Bartels of Greendale, Wis., Rebecca (and Dan) Lindsey of Heyworth, Cheryl Robbins of Bloomington and Phyllis Lessen of Streator; one stepbrother, Frederick (and Linda) Robb of Covell; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

One sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bloomington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church or Heritage Manor Nursing Home, both in Bloomington.
