Atlanta Betterment Fest

DETAILS: Downtown Atlanta was in a festive mood last June when the Atlanta Betterment Fund hosted the Cattle Bandits band at the first Atlanta Betterment Fest. Well, we’re doing it again and this time it will be bigger and better. Plan to join us for great music, a cookout featuring grilled rib-eyes, pork chops and brats, a beer tent, silent auction, and lots more. The Cattle Bandits will be back and they’ll be joined by another area band, Neon Cactus. Free.
All proceeds from the Atlanta Betterment Fest will be used by the Atlanta Betterment Fund to help support Atlanta’s businesses and services. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Current projects being supported by the Atlanta Betterment Fund include remodeling work at the Country-Aire Restaurant, marketing assistance and remodeling at the Atlanta Inn, and continued support of efforts to reopen Atlanta’s grocery store, the Atlanta Country Market.

Glass recycling
SPONSOR: Logan County Joint Solid Waste Agency, Lincoln Junior Woman's Club, Saint-Gobain Containers and the Logan County Fair Association

DETAILS: Only container glass (food-beverage) will be accepted. Clear glass, as well as amber, green and blue will be accepted. Unacceptable items include ceramics, dishware, light bulbs, fluorescent lights, window glass and mirrors.
Glass preparation: Rinse container thoroughly. Remove all metal or plastic lids and rings from the container. Labels may be left on containers. The glass recycling program reserves the right to reject any glass that does not meet preparation guidelines. For safety reasons, no broken glass will be accepted.
Glass will be accepted only on designated collection dates. Collection will be canceled in event of inclement weather. The Logan County Joint Solid Waste Agency does not accept glass at any of its recycling sites.
