Lincoln and Logan County accident, incident and arrest reports

[September 22, 2010] 

Accident

Sept. 20, 6:47 p.m.

Accident occurred at the intersection of North State Street and Woodlawn Road.

  • Malerich, Edward M., 94-year-old male, Lincoln; 2000 Ford SE

  • Stanley, Tina M., 33-year-old female, Lincoln; 2000 Ford F150 pickup

Stanley was traveling westbound on Woodlawn Road, approaching the corner of North State Street. Malerich was attempting to pull out of the Ayerco parking lot, crossing five lanes of traffic onto North State. He struck the Stanley vehicle in the outside westbound lane, sending it veering into the grass right of way at the corner of Woodlawn and State, stopping near the Speed Lube building.

Malerich told police that he thought he had enough time to get across all five lanes. He and the passenger in his vehicle were taken to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital by the Logan County Paramedics. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Mount Pulaski Police report for Wednesday, Sept. 22

  • Cormeny, Carl L., 60-year-old male, of Oakley, arrested Sept. 21 on Illinois Route 121 at Vine Street in Mount Pulaski on a Macon County warrant for failure to appear on charge of assault. Bond was set at $1,000, 10 percent.
