Marie Ahrens

[April 27, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Marie Ahrens, 100, of Lincoln, died April 26, 2011, at 5:32 a.m. at The Christian Village.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ahrens built and sold craft items for many years after she and her husband retired.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1910, in Mason County. Her parents were George W. and Clara Dierker Deverman. She married George C. Ahrens on Aug. 18, 1937, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth (and Linda) Ahrens of Normal; two daughters, Jean (and Ronald) Crane of Decatur and Lois (and David) Graney of Fayetteville, Ark.; four granddaughters; two stepgrandsons; three great-grandchildren; five step-great- grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Funeral Director

Marie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski.

Memorials may be given to her church.
