Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Supports Dr. Kottemann

Response to Oct 7 letter: Longtime family doctor made not available

(Oct. 7 letter)

To the editor:

This letter was right to the point. It seems that Memorial Health System has a hidden motive for removing Dr. Kottemann. They seem to have technology taking priority over health care from an extremely knowledgeable doctor that has been in our community for many, many years.

The integrity of Memorial Health System has lost much respect due to the hideous and blatant action to remove Dr. Steven Kottemann, a fine member of the medical staff. He is well-respected, conservative in treatment, very understanding, and ultimately -- always willing to listen and treat.

[to top of second column in this letter]

Sad day for Logan County if he is on permanent leave. Our best to Dr. K, as we have called him for 30-plus years, and heartfelt gratitude for years of untiring dedication to the medical community you chose to serve.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Frawley
