DETAILS: Girls from the community will shop for the dress of their dreams in the evenings from April 27 to May 4. There will be a day of glamour for the girls on May 5 at the Lincoln YMCA gym. Call for your appointment: Cathy Sanders, 217-828-0075. Every girl going to prom is invited, no matter what your financial situation. Bring your school ID.

DETAILS: Walk MS is a fundraising event to create a world free of multiple sclerosis. Form a team, gather some donations and come to the walk. Music, face painting and a silent auction are part of the festivities. Walkers turning in $100 or more receive a T-shirt. Accepting working and non-working items including COMPUTER EQUIPMENT such as laptop and desktop personal computers, hard drives, monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, CD-ROM/DVD/ZIP/tape drives, cords and cables; ENTERTAINMENT EQUIPMENT such as TVs, radios, stereo and game systems, game controls, VCR & DVD players, and cameras; SMALL BUSINESS EQUIPMENT such as phones, copiers, pagers, typewriters, fax machines and calculators. Also accepting SMALL HOUSEHOLD/COUNTERTOP APPLIANCES and aluminum, copper, brass and stainless steel items. Glass recycling collection
SPONSOR: Logan County Joint Solid Waste Agency, Lincoln Woman's Club and Verallia Saint-Gobain Containers
WHO: Open to public 
DETAILS:  Glass collection on the second Saturday of each month -- May through October. Only container glass (food, beverage containers) will be accepted. Clear glass as well as amber, green and blue will be accepted. Unacceptable items include ceramics, dishware, light bulbs, fluorescent bulbs, window glass and mirrors. FOR SAFETY REASONS, NO BROKEN GLASS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Glass preparation: Rinse containers thoroughly. Remove all metal or plastic lids and rings from the container. Labels may be left on containers.   
Glass will only be accepted on designated collection dates. Collection will be canceled in case of inclement weather. The Logan County Joint Solid Waste Agency DOES NOT accept glass at any of its recycling sites.
