Tom Seggelke, education director at Sylvan Learning Center in Springfield (and a regular substitute teacher in this area), helped students at New Holland-Middletown celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday Friday.

Dressed in his red and white hat, Seggelke read a story to the students, brought gift bags for students and teachers, and donated a book to the library.

McDonald's in Lincoln generously donated to gift bags for NH-M and Lincoln students.

The Berg Corp., which operates all the Sylvan Learning Centers in this area, planned to read to nearly 1,700 children at events Friday.

Seggelke also visited Northwest School in Lincoln in the afternoon, once again entertaining children with books from Dr. Seuss.
