Tuesday evening, city aldermen reviewed a proposal for redistricting of the city wards. Because the population of the city dropped below 15,000 at the last census, the city has to reduce its number of wards from five to four before the next election. The new wards will not take effect until the swearing in of aldermen in May of 2013.
