Tuesday morning, work was moving along quickly on Pulaski Street in front of the Lincoln IGA. By the same time Wednesday, all of the old road had been dug up and hauled away. The south lane of the street is closed due to the construction, but the north lane is open for traffic.

Those who attend Washington-Monroe School daily probably already know there is a new construction project going on. For the rest of us, the project is the addition of new office space and  a conference room. Schools around the community are getting some much-needed upgrades, thanks to the 1 percent sales tax that voters approved in 2011.
