On Tuesday morning, Illinois Senator Bill Brady hosted a roundtable discussion in the Council Chambers at Lincoln City Hall. The meeting was an opportunity for local governmental leaders to express their concerns to the Senator about what is needed locally to keep the community growing and running smoothly.

Last week LDN showed readers a picture of a park bench at the Sportsman's Club (pictured left here) that was in the water. On Tuesday, a shot of that same bench (on the right) shows that the water at the club's pond has risen significantly in the last few days. Since that first shot, more than two inches rain has fallen in the Lincoln area. The rains have now slowed down a bit, with no precipitation on Monday or Tuesday, but rain is in the forecast again today.

This week, St. John United Church of Christ presented a gift to the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program at the Logan County Department of Public Health. The church has been donating supplies to the WIC program for the past three years. In the first year, the donation consisted of books. Last year they added sippy cups to the books, and this year the church donated books, sippy cups, and child-sized eating utensils.
