LDN -- Top Stories

On Tuesday evening, members of the Up in Smoke BBQ committee, the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals Network and city of Lincoln gathered for a photo op at the corner of Pulaski and Kickapoo in Lincoln. The group was there for a formal presentation of an Up in Smoke donation to the city of Lincoln. In the landscaping on the corner is a tall black tower that supplies higher voltage electricity for equipment used by vendors during local festivals. That box and others around the downtown area were made possible through a cooperative effort between the city and the BBQ committee.

On Tuesday evening an additional donation was made to the city, the two yellow power boxes. Those boxes contain a bank of smaller 110 outlets. A cord can be plugged into the black tower, and electricity can be provided for smaller electric devices as needed. The boxes were entrusted to the city of Lincoln and may be used for any event held in the downtown. Present for the presentation were from left to right: BBQ committee members Marc Schoonover, Wade Kaesebier, Jim Bishop, Rick Janssen, Dave Kaesebier, Frank Bramwell, Verdean Ingram, Steve Montgomery, Chamber Administrative Assistant Tina Rusk, committee members Larry Ingram, committee member and Logan County Board member Kevin Bateman, YPN member and Alderwoman Michelle Bauer, Mayor Seth Goodman, City Administrator Clay Johnson, and committee member Chris Graue.
