Lincoln
aldermen heard an update on Tuesday evening from
FGM Architects concerning the design process for
the new Lincoln Police Department. As part of
the update, color schemes and textures were
shown that would be used in the entryway of the
new station. FGM also told the council that the
site plans are developing as originally laid out
with one exception. They have learned that the
playground located at the former Jefferson
school is not ADA compliant. To update the
playground would take several thousand dollars;
so the playground will be removed. On the good
news side, the big shade tree on the property
will remain, and the city may choose to put
benches there later on.
