LDN -- Top Stories

This week the regularly scheduled Monday night voting session of the Lincoln City Council was held on Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday. Among the items approved during the session was a request from Building and Safety Officer Wes Woodhall to hire Jim Moody Excavating to demolish this property at 1311 Broadway Street.

In his report to the city, Woodhall noted the home has been vacant for three years, that there are "breaches" in the structure allowing wild and stray animals to enter, and that the owner has been unresponsive to requests from the city to clean up and repair the property.

Woodhall also noted that Moody was the low bidder for the project coming in at $4,300 while Harold Goodman Inc. submitted a bid for $6,750.

Aldermen approved the request to hire Moody by unanimous vote.
