Deron Powell State Farm

The Farmers Bank

Johnson True Value Hardware

The Old Brickyard

Once again today, our Paint the Paper Pink pictures come from Mount Pulaski. The four businesses featured today; Deron Powell State Farm, Farmers Bank, Johnson True Value Hardware, and The Old Brickyard are all important threads in the Mount Pulaski business tapestry. These are also businesses that have day to day contact with many people in the community and are well aware of the impact breast cancer has on their small town. In smaller communities, everyone knows everyone and everyone is eager to show their love when someone is hurting. Mount Pulaski citizens over the last few years have shown their tremendous love for those in their community who are suffering. These businesses want you to know, if you are in the fight right now they are behind you! If you are a survivor, they celebrate that with you!

Lincoln Elementary District 27 Superintendent Kent Froebe presents Roy Logan with a check for $350 for Relay for Life.

Lincoln Daily News received a surprise call recently from District 27 Superintendent Froebe saying he had a check to give us for the Friends and Family Relay for Life Team. Froebe explained that the staff and faculty throughout the district do a fundraiser each year for the American Cancer Society. Those who wish to wear blue jeans with their pink shirts to school donate a dollar for the privilege. The money is then given to the ACS. Froebe said that it was decided that because LDN is working to raise funds for Relay for Life, this year the money would be handed over to the paper’s team to submit.

We send out our heartfelt thank you to Superintendent Froebe and all the faculty and staff of the District 27 elementary schools!
