[February 23, 2019]  The Lincoln Park District has been serving the community since 1961. Our mission is to enhance the quality and availability of leisure and fitness activities to meet the diverse needs of our community and patrons.

The Lincoln Park District is the largest recreational and fitness facility in Lincoln. Some of the many features include: basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, indoor walking track, indoor golf net, circuit machines, strength area, aerobic studio, spinning studio, infrared sauna and huge locker rooms with showers.

Seasonal recreation activities include a driving range, playground equipment, baseball fields, softball fields, and our Aquatic Center.

The Aquatic Center consists of a 6-lane lap pool, a large curvy yellow slide that dumps you in the plunge pool and an enclosed zero depth wading pool for toddlers.

We offer a large range of affordable membership options. Discounts are offered to seniors age 60 and over, to some businesses, active duty military and veterans. We also honor Silver Sneaker, Silver & Fit and Prime cardholders.

The Lincoln Park District Fit Zone group fitness classes are a staple to many of our members. There are currently over 20 classes offered each week. All of which are included free with the Full Access and Circuit memberships.

We offer several specialized classes from some of the best fitness training including: Spinning, R.I.P.P.E.D., and BARRE Above, just to name a few.

BARRE Above is one of our newer offerings this past year that has been enjoyed by so many.

A few other new, specialized classes that we have introduced this year would be our winter Water Aerobics, Beginner Yoga, Women’s Self Defense and Couples Yoga Massage. We are always adding new fresh, fun programming for our community.

The Lincoln Park District fitness staff consists of 13 instructors and trainers who are certified in various areas. This allows our fitness programs to continue to grow with the ever-changing fitness industry.

Our classes are held year-round, six days a week. On occasion, we offer specialized free community classes and special incentives.

Fitness Manager Jennifer Prather likes to offer a variety of classes on the group fitness schedule and programs to help keep your workouts fresh and fun.

During the summer months, our fitness programs extend outside to our Aquatic Center. Water aerobics begins in June and concludes near the end of August. This year will be our third year for our Mid-Summer Mini Triathlon event in July.

The Lincoln Park District enjoys working with the community and collaborating with other local organizations to plan community events.

These are just a few of the most recent examples of how we are always looking for opportunities to build solid relationships within the community to be able to serve Lincoln better:

- During the Pigs and Swigs event, you will find that we offer a 5K for our community.

- The Lincoln College has been partnering with us for music lessons and for water aerobics.

- Yoshukai Karate Alliance offered a Women’s Self Defense class, and we have three Ambassadors for the ALMH Fitness Court.

The ALMH Community Health Collaborative partners with us for the Wellness Expo and the World-Wide Day of Play.

The Lincoln Park District also strives to bring fun, interactive, recreational programs to our patrons and community.

Abigail Neece, the Program Coordinator, has planned, assembled and overseen a wide variety of activities and events. These programs include special drop-in activities, painting classes for all ages, and music lessons in conjunction with the Lincoln College Contemporary Jazz Program.

We have a variety of annual holiday events such as: Sweetheart Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday with Santa, Fourth of July fireworks show and our Halloween FunFest.

We organize sports leagues for the youth through Junior Railer Basketball and recreational baseball, softball, and t-ball during our summer months.

We also provide adult recreational leagues to keep the community active and involved. We have Women’s Slow Pitch Softball, Co-Ed Winter Volleyball, Pickleball and 16’’ Co-Ed Chicago Style Softball leagues.

Our recreational programs continue to grow each year based on community needs, trends, and the wellness needs of our community.

Whether you are looking for a great workout facility or a place your entire family can enjoy, the Lincoln Park District has so much to offer. Please stay connected with us via our website at www.lincolnparkdistrict.com
