This evening (Tuesday, June 2nd) from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be a lantern launch at Eaton Field in Lincoln in memory of the late Allissa Martin. Her family is hosting this event.

At 8 p.m., the Logan County Correctional Center will host a second event for staff only outdoors in front of the administration building where a memorial stone has been installed for Martin. All correctional staff is invited to attend this event.

Throughout June, security staff at the LCC will be permitted to wear purple under their uniforms in memory of Martin

This will mark the first anniversary of the death of Martin, who was a correction officer at LCC. Martin fell to her death in St. Louis last year after attending a sporting event with her spouse.
