Lincoln Memorial Hospital

Our five pink shirt pictures for today feature a total of 112 people. The large groups amassed include: Lincoln Chrysler Dodge Jeep, St. Clara's Rehab and Senior Care, Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Christian Village, and Cefcu. We thank them for showing their support for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.

Considering "masses," this is a good time to assure you that not all masses felt in the breast tissue are cancer. There are benign fibroid cysts that can present in the breast that are not harmful. If you feel something in your breast, don't let your mind immediately assume it is cancer. Instead, let your thoughts go to contacting your doctor and getting a professional opinion. Don't put it off, because if it is not cancer, you have quickly eliminated the fear and stress. If by chance it is, you are off to an early and quick response that will significantly increase your chances of survival.

The Oasis Senior Center is pleased to announce Krista Miller as our new Chief Executive Director. Krista is no stranger to serving our community. Krista worked many years with our local YMCA. She is well versed in a volunteer base, membership base, fundraising and understands the importance of not for profits in our community.

She has held several seats on various Board of Directors.

For the last eight years, she’s been with Christian Horizons, where working with the elderly became a passion to her.

Krista is married with four adult children that she loves and adores.

Her hobbies include beekeeping, cycling, kayaking, jelly making, and being outdoors.
