On Sunday afternoon, the traditional re-enactment of the Abraham Lincoln christening scene took place at the National Railsplitting Festival. The group gathered in front of the Postville Courthouse and led by narrator Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch, played out the famous day in 1853 when Abraham Lincoln christened our town, officially naming it Lincoln Illinois.
