At
the Monday night meeting of the Lincoln City Council,
Jared Kink was introduced as a new hire police patrolman
for the Lincoln Police Department. The same evening,
Officers Tim Butterfield and Chris Reed officially
received promotions within the department.
The first to be sworn
into duty was officer Kink. City attorney John Hoblit
conducted the swearing.
Officer Tim Butterfield
was promoted to the rank of corporal by Hoblit.
Officer Chris Reed was
also promoted to the rank of corporal. The galley was
filled with family members of the three officers
witnessing the official ceremony before the council.
At the end of the event
for Corporal Reed, a tiny little voice in the galley
called out something to the effect of "Way to go,
daddy!"
The new hire and the officer promotions were all done in
response to recent retirements and rank changes within
the department.
