On Monday, June 16,
2025 the Lincoln city council, by unanimous vote,
agreed to purchase the property formerly known as
the State Bank of Lincoln aka Heartland Bank & Trust
on Broadway Street.
The discussion about the purchase was held in an
executive session at the Committee of the Whole
meeting on Tuesday, June 10th. On Monday night there
was no further discussion prior to the vote.
However, later in the evening, Mayor Tracy Welch
while talking about funding for the Logan County
Tourism Bureau said that the city has its own
projects in the works that includes the purchase of
the bank building.

On Saturday afternoon
the community gathered to welcome another new
business to Lincoln with a ribbon cut. Ethan (Tappy)
and Emilie Tapscott are opening Imago Dei Pilates at
the Dugan Center on North McLean Street in Lincoln.
The cut was held on Saturday with the first official
day of classes having started on Monday, June 16th.
