Israeli forces push deeper into Gaza and destroy its only cancer hospital

Where were you five years ago today? Chances are, you were locked in your house bemoaning the fact that the Coronavirus Pandemic was keeping you from enjoying your Saturday out and about shopping, going to sporting events, or just playing in the park.

It was a tough time for many of us, and it’s hard to believe that it has been five years already.

Five years ago today, LDN ran photos of the heart campaign that was going on in our community. It was a time when folks who were at home not by choice, came to realize that our first responders did not have any options but to put themselves in harms way for our safety.

The community came together to thank those who put their health and welfare on the line to take care of those who were sick. First responders and front line workers were much appreciated during that time.

But, why just then? We should still be thankful for those same people because even though we are not in a pandemic, we still have injuries and illnesses, and it is still those people who come to our rescue in our time of need.

So, today, while you are enjoying your freedom, take a moment for a silent “Thank you” for those who come to our aid when we need them.
