 Support
              for LDC 11-27-01 To
              the editor: I
wanted to express to you my concern for keeping LDC operational. Lincoln
residents must already pay a high amount of the cost for
government in high real estate taxes. I am sure we will have to
pay more if all these jobs are lost. This is only one aspect of
              this problem. What
about the feelings of all those people who reside there and will
have to be relocated if LDC closes? There
must be a better solution to the problems than just closing the
              facility. Sincerely, Lyle
              Johnson

 Thanks
from Logan County Salvation Army 11-26-01 Dear
              Editor: On
behalf of the Logan County Salvation Army, I would like to express
thanks to the volunteers who helped distribute 127 Thanksgiving
baskets on Nov. 17, 2001. Jeff
Robinson, from Kingdom Life Worship Center, showed up at 7:30 in
the morning on a Saturday, helped get everything ready, than
stayed all day and helped carry the food boxes out to the cars! Peggy
Brocaille and Amanda Lawrence from CIEDC helped fill the boxes and
made deliveries to those unable to come to the office. Amanda also
performed the all-important task of collapsing and discarding the
mountain of boxes that the food came in. (I’m sorry about that
              cardboard frisbee incident!) Thank
you to all of the enthusiastic and hard-working AmeriCorps
workers! Without all of this help, I could not have gotten all of
those boxes filled and distributed in one day! Thank you! I
would also like to thank Charlie Lee and Bill Campbell at the
Lincoln IGA for their generous donations and help with all of the
food! Charlie, Bill, Clinton Lee and Corey Sutton delivered the
food right to the Salvation Army office and carried it in! Thanks
guys, for being so dependable and community-minded! Because
of your giving, 321 individuals in 127 households in Logan County
were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner that they otherwise would
not have had. I pray that God will bless you all! Sincerely, Curtis
              Sutterfield Service
              Center Director Logan
              County Salvation Army
