Robert
V. Mason, 70, of Lincoln died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001,
at Maple Ridge Care Centre.
His
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, at Holland and
Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mason
was self-employed with Mason & Son Contractors. From 1978 to
1992 he owned and operated the Old Milwaukee Tavern in Lincoln.
He
was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Middletown to Andy and Lena (Sheneman)
Mason. He married Georgann Proctor on Feb. 1, 1964, in Lincoln. She
survives.
Also
surviving are two sons, Todd R. Mason of Lincoln and Robert A.
Rickord of Champaign; one daughter Lena S. Schleder (and husband
John) of Hartsburg; four grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren;
four brothers, Frank Mason (and wife Helen) of Lincoln, Paul Mason
(and wife Ellen) of Middletown, Nick Mason (and wife Wanda) of
Sterling and Pat Mason (and wife Carol) of Pekin; four sisters,
Betty Smith (and husband Bob) of Utica, Mich., Judy May (and husband
Don) of Lincoln, Dorthea McElderry of Colorado Springs, Colo., and
Carolyn Johnson of Bradford, Ark.
He
was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Rae Mason; one brother,
Ed Mason; and three sisters, Hazel Peters, Ruth Killion and Helen
Greco.
He
was of the Protestant faith.
