Robert
Hollis Pickett, 87, of Elkhart died at 12:05 a.m. Monday, July 16,
2001, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Pastor Beth Tickner officiating.
Burial,
with firing squad ceremonies at the graveside, will be in Elkhart
Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, with a Masonic service at 11
a.m., followed by the funeral service.
Pickett
was a retired grain farmer.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He
was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Adair County, Ky., to Phillip W. and
Corda Gilpin Pickett. He married Norma Ferjancic in Springfield on
Feb. 2, 1951. She died Jan. 16, 2001.
Pickett
is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife and six brothers:
Phillip, Morris, Clifford, Clay, Tom and James.
He
was a member of Elkhart United Methodist Church, Lincoln Lodge 210
AF & AM, Elkhart American Legion, Springfield Consistory, Logan
County Voiture 40 et 8; Ansar Shrine, Legion of Honor and Logan
County Shrine Club.
Memorials
may be made to Elkhart United Methodist Church and Shriner’s
Hospital for Children.

Neumann
Dan
Neumann, 83, of Dearborn, Mich., formerly of Middletown died in
Dearborn on Saturday, July 14, 2001.
His
funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Bob Hansen officiating.
Burial
will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Visitation
will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Neumann,
the son of William Henry and Nellie Boice Neumann, was born Jan. 24,
1918, in Middletown.

Robert
Greathouse
Robert
C. Greathouse, 77, of Mason City died Monday, July 16, 2001, at his
residence.
His
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Hurley
Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City. The Rev. Robert Paddack
will officiate.
Burial
will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Greathouse
had been a mechanic in California, Lincoln and Mason City. Also, he
mowed lawns in Mason City for 20 years.
He
was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Brown County, Ind., to Clarence and Vera
Carlmickel Greathouse. He married Lucille Leamon on Aug. 17, 1967,
in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Also
surviving are three sons, Robert Greathouse of Lawndale, Randy
Greathouse of Ventura, Calif., and Rod Greathouse of Atlanta; two
stepsons, Vernon Wagner of Bartonville and Bob Rawlins of Lincoln;
three daughters, Judy of Wisconsin, Janice of Gibson City and Becky
Moore of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers and two stepsons, George
Wagner and Kenny McCray.
He
was a member of Moose Lodge 1430 in Ventura, Calif., and of Eagles
Lodge in Lincoln.
Memorials
may be made to Hospice in Springfield.

Joe Merreighn Sr.
Billie
Joe Merreighn Sr., 44, of Hartsburg died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, July
15, 2001, in Hartsburg.
His
funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Pastor Ron Simmons officiating.
Cremation
will follow the service.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Merreighn
was a Logan Correctional officer for 23 years.
He
was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He
was born Nov. 10, 1956, in Lincoln to Wilford William and Beverly
Ely Merreighn. He married LaDonna Jones on June 5, 1978, in Lincoln.
Surviving
are his wife, of Hartsburg; his parents, Jerry and Beverly Gaddy of
Lincoln; one daughter, Joanie Pierce (and Tod) of Lincoln; two sons,
Billie Joe "B.J." Merreighn Jr. (and Jasmine) of Lincoln
and Joshua Merreighn (and Lisa) of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Luke
Sutton of Hartsburg, Amber Sutton of Lincoln, Quentin Merreighn of
Lincoln, Seth Turley of Hartsburg and Mackenzie Merreighn of
Lincoln; five brothers, Scott Gaddy of Bloomington and Shawn Gaddy,
Todd Gaddy, Robert Merreighn and Donald Merreighn, all of Lincoln;
and three sisters, Cheryl (and Chuck) Feese of Springfield, Norma J.
Langley (and Bill) of Mount Zion and Tami Huskins of Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by his father, Wilford William Merreighn, and
one sister, Cheryl Gaddy.
He
was a member of Lincoln Church of God.
