Phyllis Maxheimer

Phyllis J. "Max" Maxheimer, 52, of Lincoln died at 10:11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Peters officiating.

There is no visitation.

Miss Maxheimer farmed with her father in rural Chestnut. She also decorated cakes. She was formerly a florist at Doris’s Floral in Lincoln.

She was born June 18, 1949, in Lincoln to Alfred W. and Maxine Horn Maxheimer.

Surviving are her parents, of Lincoln; one brother, Dale (and wife Betty) Maxheimer Sr. of Chestnut; three sisters, Linda S. Ryan of Elkhart, Shirley A. Brittin of Tallula and Teresa A. (and Craig) Strampp of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and two nieces.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Elizabeth Strohmenger

Elizabeth "Bette" A. Strohmenger, 91, of Lincoln died at 6:50 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Paul Gilmore officiating.

Her body was donated to medical science.

Mrs. Strohmenger was a homemaker for her family. She also worked at Sangamo Electric.

She was born March 9, 1910, in Lincoln to William and Annie Lawson Clark. She married Walter L. Strohmenger in 1958 in Springfield. He died March 17, 1988.

Surviving are one son, Jack C. Fisher (and wife Kathy); five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death one son, Robert Fisher, in 1994; three brothers, Lemont, Minor and Edwin Clark; and one sister, Emma Clark.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and of AARP.

She enjoyed bowling and golfing.
