Elsie Finfrock
Fletcher, 76, of Camdenton, Mo., formerly of Waynesville, died at
12:17 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at Lake Regional Health Systems,
Osage Beach, Mo.
Visitation will be
from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta.
Her funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Waynesville United Methodist Church. The Rev.
Al Simonson will officiate.
Burial will be in
Union Cemetery, Waynesville.
Mrs. Fletcher worked
at Stetson China Factory, Lincoln; Dixie Truckers Home, McLean;
Admiral Corporation, Bloomington; and provided child care in her
home.
She was born July 18,
1926, at Waynesville to George W. and Nellie Williams Finfrock. She
married Roy B. Lane of McLean. Later she married Elmer Organ in
Waynesville. He died July 3, 1961. She then married Vernon "Casey"
Fletcher in McLean on April 1, 1966. He survives.
Also surviving are
six children, George (and David) Isaac, Debra (and Billy) Ballenger
and Alan Organ, all of Waynesville, Nancy (and Paul) French of
Lincoln, Bud (and Nancy) Lane of Fenton, Mo.; and Marvin (and his
fiancée, Babylon) of Glen Allen, Va.; eight grandchildren, Heather
Lane, Channen (and Rory) Settles, Heidi (and Steve) Browne, Chad
(and Trisha) Isaac, Erin (and Travis) Finder, Derek Ballenger,
Destiny Ballenger and Andy Daugherty; two stepgrandchildren, Adam
(and Angel) French and Nathan French; four great-grandchildren,
Laken and BreAnna Settles and Konnor and Karter Browne; two sisters,
Grace (and Francis) Goff of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Lottie Scott
of Rockford; one brother, Lonnie Finfrock of Wasilla, Alaska; three
sisters-in-law, Jean Finfrock of Waynesville, Sophia Finfrock of
Sanger, Calif., and Wanda Bolinger of Canton; numerous nieces and
nephews; and children special to her.
She was also preceded
in death by four brothers.
Mrs. Fletcher was a
charter member of the Waynesville American Legion Auxiliary Unit
1189, a past member of Waynesville Welfare Club, a room mother many
times and a Methodist Youth Fellowship leader.
She enjoyed sewing,
embroidery and card playing.
She was a devoted
wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family requests
that anyone who knew her remember her generosity, her love of
children, her sometimes outrageous personality, and … smile.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Salvation Army, Waynesville Township Library or Waynesville Rescue
