Joseph Hinkle
Joseph E. "Joe"
Hinkle, 71, of New Holland died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002,
at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home.
His funeral service
will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holland and Barry, with the Rev. Robert
Henderson officiating.
Burial will be in
Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Hinkle was a
self-employed trucker. He also worked in construction, had been a
grain and livestock farmer, was previously employed by Barricks
Transfer, and had raced stock cars.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War.
He was born Aug. 14,
1930, in Normal to Joseph R. and Priscilla Inez Swearengen Hinkle.
He married Beverly G. White on April 22, 1972, in Lincoln.
Surviving Hinkle are
his wife, of New Holland; three daughters, Victoria (and husband
Steve) Awe of Elkhart, Valerie Hinkle of New Holland and Jan (and
husband Wayne) Erwin of Alice, Texas; two sons, Jonathon Hinkle of
New Holland and Joseph A. Hinkle of Lincoln; and eight
grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by one daughter, two other children who died infancy and one
sister, Joann Bobb.
He was of the
Protestant faith. He was a member of the carpenters union, the
National Rifle Association and a life member of the American Angus
Association.

James Stanberry
James Lee Stanberry, 52, of Mason City,
died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
Saturday, June 8, at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, followed by
a service at noon, officiated by the Rev. Randall Paine.
Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Stanberry worked as a plasma cutter for
Meteer Manufacturing in Athens.
He was born July 9, 1949, in Winchester
to Joseph T. and Vera Kesterson Stanberry. He married Nancy Marcum
Cargill on Aug. 30, 1974, in Lincoln. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Troy
Stanberry of Mason City; three daughters, Rhonda (and Mike) Karr,
Dawn (and Kurt) Banister and Tonya (and Cole) Warnisher, all of
Mason City; nine grandchildren; one brother, Larry Stanberry of
Greenville; and one sister, Linda Noga of Roodhouse.
He was preceded in death by two
brothers and one sister.
Memorials
may be made to the family in care of Mason City National Bank or to
the donor’s choice.
Brooksie Reinhardt
Brooksie M. Reinhardt, 93, of Lincoln died at 2:35 a.m. Thursday,
June 6, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She had been a
resident of St. Clara’s Manor.
A
graveside service officiated by Tim Searby will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday, June 8, at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
She was born May 3, 1909, in Lincoln to Charles F. and Rose L.
Brashear Logsdon. She married Leo F. Reinhardt on Oct. 13, 1944, in
Springfield. He died Jan. 27, 1993.
A
niece, Mildred Newman of Westminster, Calif., survives.
One brother, Merton Logsdon, preceded her in death.
She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

Peggy Parks
Peggy L. Parks, 59,
of Lincoln died at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at St. John’s
North in Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home
in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be
at 1:30 p.m. Monday at New Wine Fellowship in Lincoln, with Tony
Shuff officiating.
Burial will be in
Atlanta Cemetery.
Mrs. Parks was a
secretary for New Wine Fellowship and helped with the church’s
ministry.
She was born Oct. 18,
1942, in Lincoln to Walter and Viola Lahr Brandt. She married Tom
Parks on June 17, 1961, in Atlanta.
Surviving are her
husband, of Lincoln; one daughter, Christine Potratc of Lincoln; one
son, Todd Parks of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Tom
Brandt of Pekin and Larry Brandt of Oakdale, Minn.; and one sister,
Cindy Rosecrans of Bloomington.
She was a member of
New Wine Fellowship.
Memorials may be made to her church.
Hallie Williams
Hallie J. Durr
Clevenger Williams, 71, of Sherman, formerly of Lincoln, died at
6:02 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at St. John’s Hospital in
Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Kerrigan Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Lincoln, at 9:30
a.m. Monday.
Burial will be in St.
Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Williams retired
in 1995 as a receptionist and computer operator at St. John’s
Hospital in Springfield. She had been employed there for 17 years.
Previously she worked for Sears in Springfield for 14 years.
She was born Nov. 23,
1930, in Lincoln to Harold and Rose Mintjal Durr. She married Larry
Williams on Aug. 10, 1979, in Mahomet. He survives.
Other survivors are
two sons, Walter "Butch" (and wife Linda) Clevenger of Cantrall and
Paul (and Cathy) Clevenger of Port Aransas, Texas; one daughter,
Vicky Megginson of Waverly; seven grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; one sister, Theresa (and Les Richert) of
Lincoln; and one niece.
She was preceded in
death by one daughter, one sister and one brother.
She was a member of
St. John Vianney Church in Sherman and a charter member of the
Eagles Lodge in Lincoln.

Hospice, Springfield.
