Support
for MS Walk appreciated
4-29-02
To
the editor:
Words
cannot express our gratitude for the outpouring of support for this
year’s MS Walk. We raised nearly $15,000 for the benefit of people
with multiple sclerosis.
Thanks
to all the volunteers and walkers who are so supportive of our cause
and were so generous with their financial help and time. Thirty
volunteers and approximately 100 walkers made this year’s event
possible. We appreciate the support of the sponsors and individuals
who donated advertising, supplies, food products, door prizes and
monetary gifts. Thanks also to the businesses who helped us with the
tennis shoes fund-raiser and Don Hellman for arranging the use of
beautiful Kickapoo Creek Park.
Congratulations
to Gene Witt, who won the Illini football donated and autographed by
coach Ron Turner and his staff.
It
is very gratifying to see the people of Logan County working
together to help those affected by multiple sclerosis. Research
efforts have resulted in new treatment therapies, and above all, the
search for a cure is foremost.
Thank
you, everyone!
