Marilyn
M. Durchholz, 79, of Mount Pulaski died at 5:43 a.m. Monday, May 13,
2002, at her home.
Private
visitation for the family will be at Veail Chapel, with Fricke-Calvert
Schrader Funeral Home of Mount Pulaski in charge of arrangements.
Burial
will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
Private
services for the family will be at a future date. Bill Shanle will
officiate.
Mrs.
Durchholz was a homemaker for her family.
She
was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Mount Pulaski. She married Elmer
"Butch" Durchholz on Dec. 29, 1942, in Bowling Green, Mo.
Surviving
are two sons, Richard Wayne (and Kay) Durchholz of Mount Pulaski and
Dale Leroy (and Dawn) Durchholz of Bloomington; three grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Leroy Keith "L.K."
(and Dolly) Buckles Jr. of Mount Pulaski and Henry Frank (and Irma
Jean) Buckles of Mount Pulaski.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Keith Buckles Sr. and
Helen F. Copeland.
She
was a member of Buffalo Christian Church, Mount Pulaski Christian
Church, Christian Church Loyal Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary
and Junior Woman’s Club. She was a longtime 4-H leader in the
community and worked at the Logan County clerk’s office for a
number of years.

Ramlow
Henry
D. Ramlow, 79, died at 8:08 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, at St. Rita’s
Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
His
funeral was at 1 p.m. Monday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home,
Cridersville, Ohio, with the Rev. Michael Phillips officiating.
Visitation was from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military
rites were conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Ramlow
was a retired supervisor for National Equipment and Mold.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in the 33rd
Division.
He
was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Burton View to John H. and Catherine E.
Stuan Ramlow. He married Barbara Lawrence Shields on March 17, 1990.
She survives.
Other
survivors are three sons from a previous marriage, Gary Lee (and
Sharon) Ramlow of Lawton, Mich., Gregory Lynn Ramlow of Lawton,
Mich., and Gordon Andrew (and Rebecca) Ramlow of St. Joseph, Mich.;
four grandchildren; four brothers, Emil C. Ramlow of Decatur, Ralph
D. Ramlow of Scotts, Mich., Richard D. Ramlow of Round Lake and
Virgil L. (and Judy) Ramlow of Beavercreek, Ohio; and a sister,
Lorna M. Wilson of Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur F.A. and John W.
Ramlow, and a sister, Clara A. Stewart.
He
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lima, Ohio, and a former
member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
In
Ohio he was also a member of Lima Eagles Aerie 370 and a lifetime
member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was a former member
of Elida Post 6741, where he served as post adjutant.
He
was known as "Hanky Panky" to his CB friends, and he
enjoyed fishing and dancing.

County, Ohio.

Harry
Menzel
Harry
W. Menzel, 85, of Lincoln died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church
of Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Menzel
was a petroleum salesman for Logan Farm Service for 28 years.
He
was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He
was born April 2, 1917, in Lincoln to Julius and Carolina Jaggi
Menzel. He married Dorothy Earle in Malden, Mo., in 1943.
Surviving
Menzel are his wife, of Lincoln; four sons, Harry Earl (and Jean)
Menzel of Kankakee, David (and Pat) Menzel of Springfield, Michael
(and Marsha) Menzel of Williamsville and Scott (and Wendy) Menzel of
Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one
sister, Maxine Menzel of Lincoln; and one brother, Julian (and
Elsie) Menzel of Lincoln.
He
was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and the
church’s Volunteers in Mission and was a driver for the food
pantry. He was also a member of American Legion Post 263.
Memorials
may be made to American Diabetes Association or Logan County Food
Pantry.

Grubbs
Willard
Dale Grubbs, 52, of Leslie, Ark., died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, May 12,
2002, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
His
funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will be one hour before the
service.
Burial
will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, Macon County.
Grubbs
was retired from maintenance work for the Logan County Housing
Authority in Lincoln.
He
was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Woolum, Ark. He married Debbie Morris
Laskin in Decatur in November 1979.
Surviving
Grubbs are his mother, Daisy E. Ray of Lincoln, his stepfather, Jack
L. Duncan of Decatur, one son, B.J. Grubbs of Decatur; one sister,
Jane Fairbanks of Lincoln; cousin William Ray of Leslie, Ark., who
was raised with Willard like a brother; and a nephew, J.R. Maple of
Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by his father, John L. Grubbs.
He
was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the National Rifle
Association.
