David Reed
David Earl Reed, 50, of Lincoln died at
2:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be at a later
date.
Mr. Reed was an assembler at Revere
Ware in Clinton for 20 years.
He was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Streator
to Frank and Phyllis Huber Reed. He married Kathleen Richards on
Oct. 6, 1972, in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Alexander
David Reed of Normal, and one brother, Richard Reed of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
He was a member of Jefferson Street
Christian Church of Lincoln and had attended Illinois State
University and Lincoln Christian College.
Memorials

Control and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Helen Yard
Helen Fay Yard, 89, died at 10:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Villa East Nursing Home in Sherman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m.
Saturday at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Jon Rose will officiate.
Mrs. Yard had been a retail sales clerk
at Myers Brothers.
She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Raymond
to Hardin and Jessie Neussman Billiter. She married Chancy Yard on
Oct. 5, 1934, at Morrisonville. He survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Jack (and
wife Carol) Yard of Franklin, N.C., and Gary (and wife Sandra) Yard
of Sherman; four grandsons, Troy (and Tammy) Yard of Sherman, Monte
(and Jolyn) Yard of Sherman, Tony Yard of Lakeland, Fla., and Terry
(and Diane) Yard of Lakeland, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren,
Miranda, Jacob, Alexandra and Rylie Yard of Sherman and Sydney and
Faith Yard of Lakeland, Fla.
She was preceded in death by two
brothers, Wayne and Harold Billiter.
Mrs. Yard was a member of the First
Christian Church of Broadwell.
Memorials
may be made to the church, American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s
Association.
Walter Musick
Walter S. Musick, 86, of Lincoln died
at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at St. John’s Hospital in
Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.
Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Tom Gerdts officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mr. Musick retired from Obear Nester
Bottle Company in 1978. He then served as bailiff of the Logan
County Circuit Court until 1984.
He was born May 16, 1916, in San
Francisco, Calif., to Clifford and Bertha "Betty" Menzel Musick. He
married Ruth Robertson Jones on Feb. 1, 1947, in Lincoln. She
survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Ronald
(and Sandra) Musick of Vernon, Conn., and Wayne Musick of Florence,
S.C.; two daughters, Beverly Becker of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and
Ruth (and James) Knecht of Normal; nine grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two
brothers and one granddaughter.
He was a member of Lincoln Christian
Church, the Jolly Seniors group of the church and the kitchen Sunday
school class. He had also been a member of the Kiwanis Club and a
board member of The Oasis senior center. He was formerly a member of
the Linpro Square Dance Club.
He graduated from Lincoln Community
High School in 1934 and worked for Spellman Lumber in Lincoln during
his early years. He was employed by Obear Nester beginning in 1947
and served as president of Glass Bottle Blowers Union Local 71 for
several years.
Memorials
may be made to Lincoln Christian Church or to the Christian Village
in Lincoln.

Albert Johnson
Albert Johnson, 100, of Cornland died
at 4:58 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m.
Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday
at the Cornland Christian Church, with Bill Shanle officiating.
Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery,
Elkhart.
Mr. Johnson was a lifetime farmer.
He was born Sept. 22, 1902, at Cornland,
Elkhart Township, to Henry and Hannah Person Johnson. He married Una
Ramsey in Bloomington on Jan. 7, 1933. She died Nov. 26, 1987.
Surviving are one daughter, Sue (and
Eddie) Schaffenacker of Mount Pulaski; two sons, Lynn (and Debbie)
Johnson of Elkhart and Lee (and Donna) Johnson of Elkhart; a
daughter-in-law, Nell Johnson of Cornland; grandchildren Beau
Johnson, Brian Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Amber Jones, Angela Jones,
Justin Camp, Dustin Camp and Mandy (and Chad) Emberton, all of
Elkhart, Terri (and Tom) Schnapp of Springfield, Dawn (and Mike)
Powell of Springfield, Tim (and Theresa) Johnson of Buffalo, Susan
(and Dean) Schueler of Glen Carbon, and Scott Schaffenacker of
Natchitoches, La.; 13 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by one
son, Frederick Dean Johnson, and one great-granddaughter.
He was a member of Cornland Christian
Church and Logan County Farm Bureau.

Jack Wolf Sr.
Jack L. Wolf Sr., 73, of East Peoria
died at 4:13 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at his home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.
Friday at Remmert Funeral Home, 521 E. Washington St. in East
Peoria.
A graveside service will be at noon on
Saturday at Viola Cemetery in Viola.
Mr. Wolf was a truck driver for 32
years and retired from Preston Trucking in East Peoria. He also
worked as a bartender at the Variety Club in East Peoria.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II.
He was born July 16, 1929, in Alba to
Joseph and Gertrude Davidson Wolf.
Surviving Mr. Wolf are one son, Jack
Wolf Jr. of Wapella; four daughters, Vickie (and Jim) Schleder of
Lincoln, Cheryl (and John) Harney of Clinton, Lori (and Larry) Rasor
of Clinton and Tammy (and Jack) Musselman of Kenney; 10
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, David (and
Ursula) Wolf of Missouri; and two sisters, Charlotte Williams of
Aledo and Judy Wolf of the Quad Cities.
He was preceded in death by one brother
and one great-grandson, Bryson W. Boyer.
He was a
member of VFW Post 1756 and American Legion Post 263, both in
Lincoln.
Eva
Dixon
Eva Mae Dixon, 94, previously of
Springfield, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Maple Ridge
Care Centre in Lincoln.
The visitation and funeral were on
Friday morning at W.W. White-Pettiford Memorial Chapel in
Springfield. The Rev. Napoleon Bonaparte officiated at the service.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery,
Springfield.
Ms. Dixon had worked as a technician at
Lincoln Developmental Center.
She was born Aug. 1, 1908, in Hannibal,
Mo., to Landie and Hattie Wheatly Dixon.
Surviving are one son, Hamp Johnson Jr.
of Gulfport, Miss., several nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
She was a
member of Allen Chapel AME in Lincoln, Eastern Star, Estella Chapter
3 OES-PHA and Order of Calanthe of Illinois.
