67, of Lincoln died at 1:46 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at his
home.
Arrangements are pending at Kerrigan-Peasley
Funeral Home.
Delora Wilson
Delora L. Wilson, 66,
of Mason City died at 2:35 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at Mason
City Area Nursing Home.
Visitation will be
from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in
Mason City.
Services will be at
Hurley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Randall Paine
officiating.
Burial will be in
Mason City Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson and her
husband, Luther, owned and operated Delavan Lanes bowling alley for
many years. She also worked at several nursing homes, including
Hopedale Nursing Home and Mason City Area Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 7,
1936, in Mason City to Corey and Edith Cue Triplett. She married
Ervin Wilson. Later she married Luther Wilson, and he preceded her
in death.
One
son, Timothy Lee Wilson, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three
grandchildren and one brother, William (and wife Patricia) Triplett
of St. Cloud, Minn.
Mrs. Wilson was a
member of Mason City United Presbyterian Church and a past member of
the Rebekahs in Mason City.
She attended the
University of Illinois at Normal for two years.

Gertrude Gates
Gertrude Gates, 79,
of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Lincoln, died at noon Wednesday, Sept.
25, 2002, at Odyssey Hospice in Tucson.
Her funeral service
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Henderson officiating.
There is no visitation.
Burial will be in
Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Gates was a
retired cook.
She was born March 7,
1923, in Lincoln to Charles and Grace Jones Hoblit. She married
Burton M. Gates Sr. on June 29, 1940, in Chicago. He died April 28,
1995.
Surviving are one
daughter, Sandra Gates of Tucson, Ariz.; one son, Robert Gates of
Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded
in death by one son, Burton Gates Jr.
Mrs. Gates was a
loving wife, mother and grandmother and a wonderful homemaker. She
will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mary Burge Adams
Mary Ella Burge
Adams, 58, of Lincoln died at 7:21 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in
Mason City.
Services will be at
11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Don Hoover
officiating.
Burial will be in
Walker’s Grove Cemetery, Easton.
She worked as a spot
welder for 37 years at Cutler Hammer in Lincoln.
She was born Nov. 23,
1943, to David and Ottie Calhoun King. She married Ronald Adams in
April 1988 in Lincoln.
Surviving are her
husband; three sons, Steve (and Doris) Burge of Lawndale, Michael W.
(and Crystal Ann) Burge of Lincoln and stepson Ronnie Lee Adams of
Lincoln; two daughters, Kathryn Wiser of Lincoln and stepdaughter
Kathy (and Jerome) Hawkins of Oregon; 11 grandchildren; three
brothers, Dale King of Decatur, Edward (and Wilma) King of Tamaroa
and Kenneth (and Vicki) King of Lincoln; and one sister, Fay (and
Jack) Thomas of Decatur.
Mrs. Adams was a
member of Lincoln Bible Church and volunteered for Logan County ESDA
and REACT.
Memorial contributions may be made to
Lincoln Bible Church or American Diabetes Association.
Jean
Lee
Jean LaVaun Skelton
Lee, 66, of San Jose died at 8:16 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at
her home.
Visitation was Sunday
evening at Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose.
Mrs. Lee’s funeral
was at 11 a.m. Monday at San Jose Christian Church, with Jon
Hamilton and Allen Payne officiating.
Burial is in Irish
Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
She worked at the
state school in Lincoln for many years and then at Hopedale Hospital
for nine years. She also cleaned homes for many years.
She was born Oct. 13,
1935, in Menard County to Clarence Edward and Goldie May Boyer. She
married George B. Skelton Sr. in 1950, and he died in 1968. She
married James C. Lee in 1982, and he survives.
Other survivors are
four sons, George (and Kay) Skelton of San Jose, Bill (and Marilyn)
Skelton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ed (and Paula) Skelton of San
Jose-Havana and Dan (and Michelle) Skelton of San Jose; three
daughters, Evelyn (and Gene) Tibbs of San Jose, Peggy (and Eric)
Schurman of San Jose and Christine Skelton of Pekin; 16
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (and
Donna) Boyer of Havana, David (and Lucy) Boyer of McLean, Harvey
Boyer of San Jose and Dale Boyer, address unknown; and sister-in-law
Julia Boyer.
She was also preceded
in death by two sons, Kenny and Larry Skelton; three grandchildren;
and three brothers.
She was a member of
San Jose Christian Church.
