Wayne Charles Buse

Wayne Charles Buse, 69, of Chestnut died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at 1:55 a.m. at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

Visitation was Tuesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His funeral was Wednesday morning at First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating.

Military rites accompanied the burial in Richmond Grove Cemetery, rural New Holland.

Mr. Buse had worked at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln and farmed in Logan County.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was born July 27, 1933, in Lincoln to Fred and Frieda Buse. He married Jeanette Mosier on June 24, 1955, at the First United Methodist Church. She died Aug. 20, 1998.

Surviving are three sons, Robert W. (and Kathy) Buse of Beason, Darren W. Buse of New Holland and B. Lynn (and Tammy) Buse of Hartsburg; eight grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Buse of Lincoln; and one sister, Dorothy Cheney of Allenville.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.

He was associated with the Railsplitter Festival and the Craft Guild of New Salem and Clayville for a number of years.

Memorials may be made to the educational fund at Chester-East Lincoln School or to the Railsplitter Festival.
