The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Tuesday
lunch program
Swiss steak and salad, bread and
butter, and a drink are featured for Tuesday, Aug. 12, lunch at
11:30 a.m. Buy your $3.50 ticket before noon on Monday and join us
for a nutritious lunch. If you decide to stay and play cards, the
ticket is only $3.
Veterans
The Veterans Administration
representative will be at The Oasis on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m.
to noon only to assist with any veterans issues you have.
Think
Tank speaker
Don Peasley of Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral
Home will be the featured speaker Wednesday, Aug. 13, starting at 9
a.m. His topic is "Funeral Arrangements." He will address questions
concerning the process for making the arrangements and the pitfalls
to avoid. No reservation necessary.

Computer
classes
Registration is now open for the
computer basics, word processing and e-mail/Internet classes
starting in September. Each is a Monday-Friday course that meets
from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Fees are $15 for members and $18 for
nonmembers. Call 732-6132 to register for the class.
Game
winners
Betty Burger and Tom Garrison won 5 in
1, and Alice Thornton won pool. Tom Garrison and Ann Greger won at
Sunday rummy. Weekday pinochle winners were Helen Cart and Mable
Hoagland.
