            KEOKUK, Iowa -- The 
            20th annual Bald Eagle Appreciation Days in Keokuk will be Jan. 
            17-18, 2004. Keokuk is the winter home of the largest concentration 
            of American bald eagles on the Mississippi River. This will be an 
            opportunity for a fun-filled family getaway. |

            Personnel from the U.S. Army 
            Corps of Engineers, the Lee County Conservation Board, Iowa 
            Department of Natural Resources and Illinois Department of 
            Corrections will be at observation points along the river. Seventeen 
            wildlife, conservation and environmental agencies will exhibit in 
            the River City Mall. 
            Live eagle and raptor 
            presentations by the 
            World Bird Sanctuary of St. Louis will continue throughout the 
            weekend at the Plaza Cinema in the River City Mall. The 
            presentations are free and are presented hourly 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 
            p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Native American 
            activities will be present inside the River City Mall throughout 
            both days, providing opportunities to learn Native American history 
            of the Keokuk area. The Worthen Earth 
            Searchers have organized a rock, mineral and artifact show to be 
            presented both days from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

       The Keokuk Wood 
            Carvers Club will expand their show this year to include carvers 
            from throughout the Midwest, along with carving competition. The 
            show will be in the Keokuk Art Center at the River City Mall, where 
            the public can see the carving talent on display. The Spratt Family 
            Jubilee, billed as the "best little show outside of Branson," will 
            provide Saturday evening entertainment, with country, bluegrass, 
            gospel and comedy. The show will be presented at the Faith 
            Family Auditorium, 2323 Main, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $8 
            for adults, $4 for ages 6-13 and free for children 5 years and
