Robert Wilmert
Robert W. Wilmert,
75, of Lincoln died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at 5:21 p.m. at St.
John's Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
His funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Tony Shuff
officiating.
Burial will be in
Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Wilmert worked 30
years for the Lincoln Police Department. He retired as a chief
sergeant in 1988.
He was born Sept. 24,
1927, in Lincoln to Julius and Louise Burkhardt Wilmert. He married
Marjorie Smith on Oct. 20, 1949, in Havana. She survives.
Other survivors are
two sons, Terry (and Linda) Wilmert of Grand Rapids, Mich., and
Donald (and Amy) Wilmert of Marshall, Minn.; one granddaughter,
Sarah (and Jason) Chandler of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandsons,
David Wilmert of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Stacy and Randy Wilmert of
Marshall, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Makaila
Chandler; two brothers, Eldon Wilmert of Morton and Art Wilmert of
Decatur; and one sister, Marilyn Scott of Austin, Texas.
He was a member of
Broadwell Christian Church and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Glenn Dornaus
Glenn Dornaus, 91, died Monday, Feb. 3,
2003, at 7:40 a.m. at The J.C. Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta is in
charge of arrangements. The body was cremated. Private graveside
services, with the Rev. John Throop officiating, will be in Atlanta.
Mr. Dornaus was a sales representative
for The Equitable Life Assurance Society of New York. He retired in
1973.
He was born July 13, 1911, in
Bloomington to Arthur and Myrtle Blackwell Dornaus. He married Emma
Louise "Emmylou" Hoblit on June 26, 1938, in Atlanta. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter,
Barbara L. (and Ronald) Sulaski of Brimfield; one son, Roger G. (and
Deborah) of Peoria; three grandsons; three granddaughters; five
great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Arthur of
Hudson; and two sisters, Carol Dornaus and Joanne Etchison of
Normal.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
He was a member of First United
Methodist Church of Peoria, Temple Lodge 46 AM & FM, Scottish Rite
Bodies, Valley of Peoria and Mohammed Shrine.
He attended Illinois Wesleyan
University and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

Cash
Tapper
Cash Tapper, 14, of
Lincoln died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at 4:22 p.m. in the emergency
room at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of
Cash's life will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lincoln Elks
Club ballroom. All of Cash's friends, Mat's friends, and friends of
Alan and Marilyn are invited.
Cash was an
eighth-grade student at Chester-East Lincoln School.
He was born Aug. 2,
1988, in Galesburg to Alan and Marilyn Shipp Tapper.
Survivors are his
parents, of Lincoln; one brother, Matthew Tapper of Lincoln; his
maternal grandfather, John J. Shipp of Monroe City, Mo.; and his
paternal grandfather, Raymond E. Tapper of Galesburg.
He was preceded in
death by his maternal grandmother, Mary E. Shipp, and his paternal
grandmother, Shirley M. Gladfelter/Tapper.
Cash played hockey
for the Springfield Kings. He also participated in Lincoln's soccer,
basketball, football and baseball programs, including Lincoln Heat
baseball. He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 101 and Quail and Ducks
Unlimited. He was an avid skateboarder and loved most outdoor
activities – golf, fishing, riding dirt bikes, swimming, climbing
and exploring.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Rec
Center. The family has requested no flowers or plants.

Juanita Millard
Juanita Millard, 80, of Lincoln died
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at 8:35 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor in
Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Ron Simmons
officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mrs. Millard was a former employee in
the packing department of Ball-Foster Glass Co. in Lincoln.
She was born July 9, 1922, at Buffalo
Hart to William Howard and Goldie Hunter Kennett. She married Eldon
Duane Millard on Aug. 25, 1940, in Lincoln. He died March 1, 1995.
Surviving are one son, Dallas (and
Sandra) Millard of Lincoln; two daughters, Beverly Ward of Cullman,
Ala., and Sandra Merrill of Sherman; eight grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; one brother, Everett (and Lois) Kennett of
Lawndale; and three sisters, Pauline White of Lincoln, Margie (and
Marion) Henson of Riverside, Calif., and Loretta (and Robert) Molloy
of Prescott, Ariz.
She was also preceded in death by one
daughter, Alice.

may be made to St. Clara's Manor or Jacksonville School for the
Deaf.

Ruby Talley
Ruby Lee Talley, 78, of Waynesville
died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at 11:05 a.m. at her home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
Friday at Quiram Funeral Home in Atlanta.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday
at Quiram, with Dan Sherstad officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Waynesville.
Mrs. Talley was a homemaker.
She was born March 12, 1924, in
Williamson County, Tenn., to Henry and Florence King Pomeroy. She
married Amos Talley on May 9, 1946, at Franklin, Tenn. He survives.
Also surviving are six children,
Virginia (and David) Ryburn of Waynesville, Barbara Ann Smith of
Waynesville, William (and Lisa) Talley of Auburn, Amos (and Sharon)
Talley Jr. of Gridley, Earl (and Brenda) Talley of Fayetteville,
Ark., and Roma Joy (and Donald) McGowan of Bloomington; 16
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Pomeroy
of Gridley and Nelson Pomeroy of Peoria; one sister-in-law, Earleen
Pomeroy of Norwood Park; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, one brother and one granddaughter.
She was a member of the Waynesville
Christian Church.
