D. Donnabel
McCormick, 94, of Lincoln died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at 1:20 a.m.
at the Christian Village Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be
at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Emden, with the
Rev. David L. Hofer officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
at the church.
Burial will be in
Bethel Cemetery, rural Emden.
Mrs. McCormick was a
homemaker for her family. Before her marriage she taught several
years in country schools in the Hartsburg-Emden area.
She was born May 24,
1908, in rural Hartsburg to David Grant and Nellie May Hawes
Gilchrist. She married Leonard J. McCormick on Aug. 23, 1936, at
Emden. He died Nov. 1, 1995.
She is survived by
one son, Leonard Lance McCormick and wife Sharon of Bloomington.
She was also preceded
in death by one brother, Welby Gilchrist.
Mrs. McCormick was a
member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Emden and the Cross and Crown
women’s group of the church. She was also a trustee for the Old
Bethel Church for many years. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha
sorority and the Abraham Lincoln Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution.
She was a graduate of
Lincoln College and the University of Illinois.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s
Lutheran Church of Emden, Emden Rescue Squad or the Old Bethel
Church Fund.
Ann Kissinger
Ann E. Kissinger, 84,
of Lincoln died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at 1:25 p.m. at the
Christian Village Nursing Home.
Her body was donated
to medical science, and there is no visitation.
A memorial service
will be at a later date.

Funeral Home of Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kissinger was a
librarian at Lincoln High School before her retirement.
She was born April
13, 1918, in Lincoln to William and Amelia Gaus Devanny. She married
Harold H. Kissinger on Jan. 13, 1951, in Lincoln. He died Aug. 25,
1987.
Surviving are three
daughters, Beth (and Jim) Fleshman of Lincoln, CeCi Hopper of Skokie
and Chris (and Ed) Frye of Lake in the Hills; one son, Michael U.
Kissinger of Springfield; four grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
She was also preceded
in death by one sister and two brothers.
She was a member of Holy Family Church in
Lincoln, Holy Family Society, Daughters of Isabella and the Retired
Teachers Association.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln
Public Library and sent in care of Beth Fleshman, 410 N. McLean St.,
Lincoln.

Florence Wilmert
Florence L. Wilmert,
89, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at 1:35 p.m. at the
Christian Village Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating. Visitation will be from
9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New
Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
She had been employed
as a retail clerk at Myers Brothers, Witzig's and Perk Up.
She was born March 2,
1913, in Lincoln to Frank and Callie Watkins McKinney. She married
Walter G. Wilmert on June 1, 1935, in Godfrey. They were later
divorced.
Surviving are five
children, Robert H. Wilmert of Lincoln, Norma L. Adams Johnson of
Springfield, Kenneth L. Wilmert of Bloomington, Judith A. Woodard of
Lincoln and William W. Wilmert of Omaha, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Eeten of Springfield.
She was also preceded
in death by one sister, Helen Ressler.
She was a member of
St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to the church.
Oka Pauline Dierker
Oka Pauline Dierker,
95, formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at 10:05 a.m.
at National Health Care Center in Franklin, Tenn.
Her funeral will be
at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the
Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating. Visitation will be one hour before
the service.
Burial will be in
Bethany Cemetery at Bethany.
She was a homemaker
for her family. She also worked many years ago at a chicken hatchery
in Decatur.
She was born July 24,
1907, near Bethany in Shelby County to William Orville and Eva
Estella DeBruler Low. She married John Cress on March 12, 1933, in
Springfield, and he died in 1974. She married Vincent Dierker on
Nov. 15, 1978, in Lincoln, and he died Aug. 8, 1990.
Surviving are one
stepson, Eldon Dierker of rural Lincoln, and a great-nephew, Troy
Lynn Roney of Franklin, Tenn.
She was also preceded
in death by two brothers.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church
in Lincoln.
