Vincent Anderson

Vincent Edman Anderson, 87, of Latham died Wednesday (June 11, 2003) at 11:20 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, both at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. The Rev. Marvin Mungle will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in Two Mile Grove Cemetery, rural Latham.

Mr. Anderson was employed in automotive sales and insurance.

He was born July 21, 1915, at Rice Lake, Wis., to Peter and Elsie Edman Anderson. He married Loraine Floss in Seattle, Wash. Later he married Rose Mary Williams, and she preceded him in death. He married Pauline Lyon in Latham on March 20, 1970.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Anderson of Latham; one son, Jerry Anderson of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Susie (and John) Saccameno of Roselle and Kathy (and Tom) Fleming of Alton; one stepdaughter, Stephanie Milligan of Chicago; two stepsons, Jeff Lyon of Decatur and Ron Lyon of Maroa; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter and three sisters.

He was a member of Latham Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to his church or to Vonderlieth Living Center.

Virginia Embree

Virginia H. Embree, 79, of Hartsburg died Thursday (June 12, 2003) at 5:55 a.m. at the Christian Village in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lincoln Christian Church, with Tom Gerdts officiating.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Embree was a homemaker, farmed with her husband and was a registered nurse. Before she retired, she was head nurse of the training department at Lincoln Developmental Center.

She was born May 17, 1924, in Hopewell, Va., to Leonard Clifton and Darah Salter Parsons. She married Estel Embree on July 3, 1968, in Lincoln.

Surviving are her husband, of Hartsburg; her mother, of Morehead City, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Jenny Lou (and Stanley) Boughan of Lincoln and Priscilla (and Dean) Rademaker of Springfield; 10 stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Preston (and Nina) Parsons of Randleman, N.C., William Bryan Parsons of Crozet, Va., and James C. (and Vicki) Parsons of Craven County, N.C.; and four sisters, Reba P. Phibbs of Highpoint, N.C., Christine P. (and Doug) Holland of Raleigh, N.C., Ida P. (and Edfred) Gaskill of Morehead City, N.C., and JoAnne P. (and Arthur) Lewis of Moreland City, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and a 50-year P.E.O. member.

She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and received her master's degree from Florida State University. She also had a teaching certificate for nurses.
