The season starts with festivities
including performances by the DePaul trumpet ensemble, El Hogar Del
Nino Ballet Folkroico, Curie Metropolitan High School for the
Performing Arts choir, the McNulty Irish dancers and the Trinity
United Church of Christ sanctuary choir.
This year also marks the beginning of
the governor's Holiday Tree Festival.
Eight local
cultural organizations donated their time and resources to design
and decorate holiday trees, which will be on display on Tuesday in
the concourse level of the building. The trees will remain on
display on various floors in the building throughout the remainder
of the holiday season. The program reflects the wonderful cultural
diversity found in Illinois.
