[OCT. 21, 2003]  Free hearing screenings will be offered by appointment at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital for individuals age 5 and over. Certified audiologist Lori Faber will perform the screenings on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and again on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at ALMH Rehab.

Hearing screenings determine if a more thorough hearing evaluation is needed. Some of the signs of hearing loss include the perception that others are mumbling, straining to hear when someone talks or whispers, turning up the volume on the TV or radio, and often asking family, friends and colleagues to repeat themselves.

Hearing loss affects people of all ages. If you think your hearing might be fading, call (217) 732-2161, ext. 179, for an appointment with audiologist Lori Faber.
