The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Extension
sponsors bingo games
Join us Thursday at 1 p.m. for bingo
games sponsored by the Logan County Extension. The prizes are a
variety of nutritious food items for you to take home. Bring a
friend and join the group for a great time.
Alzheimer
support group
Thursday at 1 p.m. our Alzheimer
support group will meet to discuss the various problems encountered
when this disease hits home. Maple Ridge staff helps facilitate this
important group meeting. The group is accepting individuals who may
want to learn more about the problem or anyone who has been through
the progression of the disease with a family member and can share
their unique perspective.

check of the eyes
The Drake Eye Clinic provides a
painless and quick glaucoma screening on Friday, with appointments
beginning at 9 a.m. Please call the center to schedule this
important sight-saving screening.
Lunch
served
Come join us for a nutritious lunch
provided by CANA catering service in conjunction with The Oasis. The
Sept. 24 meal of ham and bean soup with fresh corn bread will be
served starting at 11:30. In order to reduce leftovers and waste, we
ask you to purchase a ticket before noon on Monday, Sept. 23. Do not
stay home alone when you can enjoy the company of others and share a
hot, nutritious meal with us.

Van trips
to Clinton and Springfield
The Clinton Apple and Pork Festival
will be the destination to visit on Saturday, Sept. 27. The van will
leave at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to return at 5 p.m. Cost for
transportation is $7 for members and $9 for nonmembers.
Seniors of Springfield will present
"Melodies of Stephen Foster" on Sept. 28 at Southeast High School.
Van departure is scheduled for 1:15 p.m., with the show at 2:30 and
return at 5:30. Cost for transportation and the show is $16 for
members and $18 for nonmembers.
The reservation deadline for both trips
is Wednesday, Sept. 24. Call 732-6132.
Game
winners
Easter Behrends won weekly pinochle the
first week in September. Friday night game winners on Sept. 5 were
Doris Steffens, pinochle; Betty Burger, 5 in 1; and Alice Thornton
and Harley Heath, pool. Ann Greger was the rummy winner on Sunday
night, Sept. 7.
